Philadelphia county homeowners should have received notices of new property assessments. If you feel your assessment it incorrect, you can appeal using the links below.

Philly property owners flood city phone lines about assessments

Philadelphia land owners took to the phone lines shortly after property assessments were released Friday and after receiving notices in the mail --some say their properties were over assessed. The Office of Property Assessment (OPA) received more than 3,200 calls and voicemails, a substantially higher volume of calls than usual, said mayoral spokesman Mark McDonald. The increased number of calls came as thousands of property owners got notices from the city detailing what their properties are worth under the new property-tax system based on market values known as the Actual Value Initiative. If a property owner feels that his or her property assessment is either too high or low, a first level review with OPA or appeal with the Board of Revision of Taxes (BRT) may be filed.

Happy Presidents Day! Hopefully you have the day off and get to sleep in a little, maybe even get a chance to take advantage of some store sales!
I have a buyer client that is a teacher and has off for the holiday. We will be seeing her first house his morning. She's a first time buyer and very excited to start the process! I don't blame her, it's a great time to buy and new inventory is popping up every day.

I will also be working on my Keller Williams website today. It's slowly but surely coming together. One aspect that's working great is the home search application and it's actually one that I like. It's simple, easy to read and provides just the right amount of information.
